A bank auction, or lilami (लिलामी), happens when a borrower cannot repay a loan and the bank sells the collateral, known as the dhito (धितो), to recover what it is owed. Before the sale, the bank publishes a lilami suchana (लिलामी सूचना), a public auction notice in newspapers and on its website, describing the asset, the base price, the deposit and the deadlines. Because these notices are spread across many banks and publications, AuctionMandu collects them into one searchable list and map covering all 77 districts.

What banks auction

Most listings are ghar jagga lilami (घर जग्गा लिलामी): residential plots, farmland, houses, apartments and commercial buildings. Banks also auction vehicles (गाडी लिलामी), from cars and motorcycles to trucks and buses, and a range of business assets. Share lilami (शेयर लिलामी), including promoter share auctions, covers shares that borrowers pledged for loans. Hydropower lilami covers projects, project land and equipment, often financed by several banks together, and you will also find factory and industrial property, hotels and resorts, and construction or industrial machinery.

How to contact the bank

AuctionMandu does not run auctions or accept bids. Each listing names the auctioning bank and shows its contact details, often including the branch handling the sale, so you can call or email the bank directly, ask for the full notice, arrange an inspection and confirm the deposit and bidding procedure. Before you commit, check the documents for the asset (for land and houses, the lalpurja (लालपुर्जा), trace map and char killa) and confirm with the bank that the auction is still going ahead, because dates can change.
